SAM KHAN
Sam Khan is a compassionate conservative, who became the first South Asian candidate to run for Mayor in Edison, the 5th largest town In New Jersey. Sam migrated to the United States in 1993 to pursue his post-graduate studies and quickly fell in love of the freedom, liberty, and opportunity offered by the greatest nation in the world. Sam has a master’s degree in Life Sciences and can speak 5 languages including English and Spanish. He is a strong supporter of higher education and believes a good education opens doors for up-and-coming citizens.
Sam worked his way up from an intern in a small start up firm to the president of a group of companies. He became dedicated to giving back to his community and volunteering in charitable causes. He has extensive business experience and is an active member of the Edison Chamber of Commerce and is the current President of the South Asian American Chamber of Commerce. He has created numerous local jobs despite a tough economy. He strongly believes that with hard work, honesty and determination you can achieve anything
Sam is the father of two beautiful daughters, Alisha and Mashel. He has dedicated his time to his family, his work and service to his community Excellence in education, ethical practices and safe environment for families in Edison Township are his top priorities. As an immigrant who came to this nation to succeed, Sam Khan is the true embodiment of the American dream.
Known for his consensus building skills, Sam reaches across party lines and works for the betterment of all involved. He has a vision for better governance in Edison Twp. Sam’s success story has helped shape his ability to load. Through his organization, “South Asian Community Outreach”, he has forged strong and supportive relations with various cultural communities, non-profit organizations, educators, entrepreneurs and politicians. An ardent advocate for the interests of all residents, he has demonstrated his ability to listen, learn and respond to civic interest and concerns.
